I’m a believer, a wife, a mom and a lover of wellness topics. I love simplicity in many areas yet I hoard organizing gadgets. 🙂
I am much more than this deep down, but as you read this, these are the “titles” we ask of each other when we get to know one another. 🙂
I have an eclectic skill set as I’ve held several jobs from retail, non-profit administration, social services (child support enforcement), marketing and sales, database/software support and training, to wellness advocacy and researcher!
I’m also into personal growth. What are we, if we are not always learning more about ourselves?
My biggest passions are personal growth, wellness, and helping other women find their own passions and purpose!
My overall wellness focus began in ’01-’02 when I was a volunteer with a domestic, faith based organization that stood by three tenants: exploring spirituality, living in intentional community, and practicing sustainability. I lived with six other women in downtown Minneapolis on a limited budget in which we shared expenses for rent and food. As you can imagine, living sustainably and ethically was a priority. We explored how to care for our environment while eating healthful yet simple meals. (Side note: the friendships I formed during this year are ones I maintain now and will always cherish. If you are young and perhaps college, do an experience like this. It will shape your future!)
Fast forward to 2006 when I first became pregnant with Angel baby (7/25/06). Suddenly, the idea of what I put in my mouth and on my skin became even more important! Our skin is our largest organ, and I knew that my my nutrition would plan an urgent part in our baby’s health. I took it hard when I had a miscarriage at ten weeks. It felt so hard not to know why, so it was easy to place blame on myself before being able to move on. With tragedy comes purpose, right? I blogged my feelings and was able to find other women who also understood the pain and mixture of emotions.
Through my grief, I continued my research and on how to make healthy choices for myself and what I prayed to be my future baby. After I finally was able to release some stress we became pregnant again and had an almost unmedicated birth in 2008 at a local hospital.
After continued research and prayer, in 2010 we chose a homebirth for our daughter. Neither baby were close to an “easy” delivery, and wow, what an empowering experience as a woman! I felt completely safe with a knowledgeable, conservative midwifery team.
I felt a little lost for a while as a parent without many close friends who were local to me who were also parents, but eventually I found my “tribe” who could share parenting ideas and strategies!
As my babies grew, I continued researching as much as I could to find holistic solutions to support our wellness.
I started dabbling in essential oils early in 2010 when a friend recommended eucalyptus to me before I gave birth to our daughter. I picked it up at the health food store, but it didn’t seem to “work” (even after several persistent attempts), so I set it aside thinking that essential oils just weren’t for me!
Fast forward to 2013 when I attended my first heart-centered essential oils class at my chiropractor’s office. I was blown away by the claims! I needed those oils in my family’s lives! I purchased a few oils and the household cleaner over the next few months. I wasn’t consistent with using them yet, though I did begin to see results!
Then, in 2014, a dear friend from my birth circle told me about a wholesale kit that came with a diffuser, so I decided to take the plunge in May that year and got a starter bundle! One day, my daughter had some amazing results with peppermint essential oil, and the rest, as they say, is history! I was very relieved that I could help her that day. (She was 4 at the time.) Our family sees results! Each time I see them “work,” they don’t cease to amaze me! I didn’t need to try other brands; other friends have tried them “for” me! They tell me that they come back to our company for results! They work better because the quality is unbeatable.
It wasn’t long after becoming a member that I realized how easy it was to “green” my home, from household cleaners (at just pennies per mixed bottle) to toothpaste to deodorant to laundry and dish soap, and even in the kitchen with “juices” (I mean, how nutritious is a glass of apple juice, really?)!
I began building my business immediately. I felt the purpose behind this heart-centered company! In May 2015 I took the opportunity to go to the first ever essential oils animals conference at the company farm. I heard such amazing stories and was so inspired!
My journey continues! Will you join me?
